About

Two Friends, Two Photographers, Two Photos a Day.

Well, that's the plan anyway...

It all began when Erin (finally) got an iPhone and challenged Anna (long-time iPhone owner) to a 365 project.

It went something like this...

"Feel like being inspired?  I'm thinking of starting a photo a day challenge, with everything being taken with my iPhone...  Want to join me?"

"Sure! And we can post it via instagram  :-) "

"That's kind of what I was thinking!"

"Sweet!"

Ok...  well that wasn't as exciting as I (Erin, that's me) remember it being at the time.    And yes, we are posting via instagram, but also on this blog you you can enjoy the challenge as it progresses.    anyway...

As photographers, we are constantly on a mission to find things that inspire us. Some days are inspiration overloads as there seems to be something around every corner. The light is perfect, the stars align, luck and skill is on our side, and eureka! the perfect image.

Other days are rather bleak and dreary in the inspiration department. We are both professional photographers and are expected to eat-breath-sleep inspired creativity. But that is easier said than done, and like all artists, we have moments of uninspiredness. (Yes I just made that word up.  Deal with it.)   Hence the challenge.

The Rules. Hey, It's a challenge, of course there are rules!  The rules are simple... (and besides, the rules are more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules.)

1. The iPhones Rule! rule - All images must be taken and edited with your iPhone.  We love us some Apple gear!

2. The Anything Goes rule - Any app is allowed.  It doesn't matter what you use to get the final image as long as it was all done on your iPhone.

3. The It's Called 365 For a Reason rule - A photo a day.  You can take more and post more to instagram than that, but one has to be "the chosen one" that will be displayed here.

4. The Blue Moon rule - The occasional, and I mean the not often but it'll be allowed once in a Blue Moon, grace image will be acceptable.  There will be no skipped days, but one may post an image taken on a previous day.   (Hey we're only human and have busy professional lives we have to deal with. It's not like this is a reality TV show where we left our jobs to participate in the Amazing 365 Challenge (*cue awesome theme music)...    So we have to have a cop-out rule in there somewhere...)

5. The Winner Takes All rule -  Loser buys dinner.   (fyi...Anna, I like that place where we got the Chicken cordon bleu on the pretzel roll last time I visited...)
(Fine Print: This challenge is sort of like that TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway? where the rules are made up and the points don't matter. Just like the never ending Canon vs Nikon battle... We all know Canon is better.    This translates to "There are no losers" so we'll go split the bill and celebrate instead!)

There you have it. A 365 iPhone photo challenge.  A little something to make us think outside the box, even on those days of uninspiredness.   So our goal for the next year is to keep our creative juices flowing, inspire each other, and in the process hopefully inspire others with a little daily photography philosophy.
